In Sanskrit, the word bandha means to lock, to hold, to tighten, or to bind. Learning their correct application is one of the key elements of a successful yoga practice. Essentially, it is our bandhas that control the flow of our breath through our bodies. They allow energy to flow through us, and if applied correctly can create an incredible pressurized system of support and stability in even the most challenging positions.

In this workshop, we will explore the key philosophical concepts of bandha practice in the yogic tradition, as well as learn to understand the anatomy behind these intricate systems which are contained within each of us. Through a combination of asana, pranayama, discussions, and observations, this workshop will give you a whole new lens through which to view your practice!

This workshop is open to practitioners of all levels. If you're new to yoga, these foundational skills will create a solid set of habits that will help you to develop a strong personal practice. For advanced practitioners, yoga teachers, and bodywork professionals of all kinds; this workshop will not only give you a deeper understanding of what Bandha actually is, but will also teach you simple ways to help others connect with these complex systems.
